If you want to avoid landscaping disease problems in the coming spring, get out there and rake up the leaves lying in your planting beds now. This is a very effective way to prevent fungal diseases, such as black spot on roses, apple scab on crabapple trees, and many leaf blights on tomatoes. If your plants had these problems this past season, then their fallen leaves winter-over in your planting beds, there’s a good chance that the diseases can winter-over there also.
